Boutique cleared out by burglars

A small boutique on the second floor of Saveways Crescent Shopping Centre was burgled recently.

The robbers stole a small fortune worth of clothes from the shop, leaving only empty rails and a couple of shoes behind.

According to the manager, the alarm went off at about 06:15 on Monday, June 23, however the security company told her that because of a shift change they only arrived on the scene 10 minutes after the alarm went off. By that time the burglars where apparently long gone.

There appear to be no signs of forced entry with no locks or windows broken. The front door was found wide open and on face value seemed undamaged. The computer and cash register were also left untouched, leaving the employees confused about the motive of the burglary.

The small boutique was completely cleared out on June 23.

The police and detectives arrived to take fingerprints on Tuesday, June 24. Saveways Centre security guards on duty apparently did not hear the alarm go off, according to the Boutique employees.

Although the boutique is situated on the second floor of the centre surrounded by empty spaces to let, they are committed to providing quality products. They aim to restock and continue with business as usual.
