Four behind bars for drinking and driving

If you have a few toots before you get behind the steering wheel, watch out, you are getting yourself into trouble.

The Witbank SAPS are showing no mercy to those who are taking a chance while under the influence of alcohol.

On the weekend from Friday, June 6 to Monday, June 8 four people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The cells at the police station also filled up as 52 others were also arrested for various charges.

Eight landed themselves in hot water when they were caught for shoplifting and three were arrested for general theft.
Six suspects felt the wrath of the law when they were arrested for possession of drugs.

Hot tempers were the order of the day and five suspects were arrested for assault.

Four suspects were arrested for possession of stolen property and one for malicious damage of property. Two suspects were put behind bars for armed robbery, three for burglary at a residence and theft, one for rape, one for trespassing and four for domestic violence.

Robberies also showed an alarming number as seven were arrested for common robbery, one for house robbery, one for theft of a firearm and three for stealing diesel.
