Volunteering for White Rose Hospice

Thanks to a big-hearted community, White Rose Hospice remains open to terminally ill patients in Mpumalanga.

With much needed funds from businesses, churches and individuals, the hospice can continue to provide quality care to those in need.
“We’ve found our feet, but still depend on the community for help,” the director, Ms Magda Esterhuizen, said. As the hospice is expanding to accommodate more people in an ever growing community, so does their need for funds grow.

“We need volunteers to help with fundraising projects for the hospice,” Esterhuizen said. Volunteers willing to help the hospice in any way would also be appreciated.

“It would help greatly if people could commit in paying a monthly sum of money off on any one of the hospice’s bills. It would considerably lighten the load for us,” Esterhuizen added.

There are currently 17 patients residing at the hospice and eight patients in frail care. Home-based patients in the community (currently 50) vary according to need.

Any contributions can make a considerable difference.
