Man found dead along road

The body of a man was discovered by a passer-by on Monday.

On June 2 at about 08:15 a body was found in Extension 14, along Shadrack Mae Avenue.

The body was that of a man thought to be between 35 and 50 years of age.

It is not known when exactly the man died or what had caused his death. According to police the man may have been lying in the bush from Sunday night, June 1 before being discovered by a passer-by along the road the following day.

It was apparent that the victim had been struck with a blunt object on his head and that is suspected to have caused his death.

A murder case has been opened by Vosman Police and a suspect is sought. According to the constable on the scene of the crime, the ‘John Doe’ had no identification on him or other belongings which could help identify him. He did however have a few rand in his pockets.
