Ward 22 committee back in action

Residents of Ward 22 in Emalahleni will be glad to know that the Ward committee, after a few months of delay, is up and running.

The committee has already held two meetings in which the concerns of the ward were submitted. These range from infra-structural problems such as pot-holes, street lights not functioning (and more), to excessive noise at unacceptable hours in certain areas, the big problem of the buying and selling of drugs and the crime levels – particularly in the city centre.

Letters have been submitted to the relevant authorities at the Municipality and also to the Speaker with regard to managing these problems effectively, with the help of the community.

The committee looks forward to the various responses from the designated officials who have received letters with regard to the problems with which the ward is plagued and look forward to responses which will serve as a guideline as to the way forward in keeping the ward ‘clean’, functioning and a safe and secure area for all its residents.
