Vosman honour and award their officers

Recently Vosman Police Station awarded their officers for efficient and professional service.

All in all they were supposed to be 20 members due for awards but only 13 were present to receive the awards; the other officers were engaged in other commitments.

Members were awarded for effective and professionally arresting a long wanted suspect, Teddy Alfred Zulu (30). He was wanted for business robbery, escaping from lawful custody on February 6 this year. The officers are: Constable I.K. Matau, Constable Vivian Nkosi, Constable John Masilela, Constable Hygiene Seopela and Constable Bongani Shawe.

Constable E.M. Ngwenya was awarded a certificate for giving testimony on a chain of evidence and handling 11 guilty verdicts in an outstanding manner. The national Prosecuting Service Sherman Nkuna marked exceptional professionalism in his conduct.

Detective Warrant Officer M.J Letsau was awarded for investigating a car hijacking case, the accused was charged with defeating the ends of justice. That led to Mr Trevor Phakathi (21) being sentenced to five years effective imprisonment.

Detective Warrant Officer N.A. Magagula was awarded for conducting effective and efficient investigation of a murder and armed robbery case leading to a sentence of life imprisonment, 15 years and ten years for both accused Bhutana Hleza (24) and Jubu Mnguni (33).
Constable L.L. Mampuru was awarded for recovery of a firearm and arresting the suspect.

Constable P.L Legodi for arresting a suspect and recovering a Isuzu LDV loaded with  stolen vehicles parts.

Detective Warrant Officer S.A. Mokgope awarded for being dedicated and for being a loyal member of the SAPS  He arrested twenty suspects all linked with other cases of armed robbery, murder and house robbery. He delivered a highest standard of performance in three months from January until March this year leaving more than twenty families with peaceful moments.

Constable N. Nhlapo was awarded for investigating of a murder case in effective, efficient way and through the forensic analysis leading to the accused Mr Alfred Morei (40) sentenced to 13 years imprisonment.

Colonel Abel Maluleke acting station commander, Colonel Sara Mthombeni visible policing commander and Colonel One Thobejane awarded the certificates and thanked the officers for their hard work and were encouraged to work even harder to take the station to another level.
