Water problem in Extension 4

Residents in KwaGuqa Extension 4 are complaining about water flowing into their yards.

The residents allege that the water had been flowing for a long time. The water, coming from underground near the cemetery, just flows into the streets and houses below in the area.

The residents complained that they have reported the matter several times and even the ward Councillor is aware of the problem.
“The water just causes problem in the streets, and in our houses. Our outside walls are always wet and are now cracking because of the water flowing into our yards. This has been going on for a long time now and we think something needs to be done to solve the problem,” they said.

In one of the houses the water flows in front of the main gate and cars cannot go into or come out of the garage because of the mud.
In some parts of the area water forms pools and causes damage to the streets and inside the yards of the houses.

Several attempts to speak to the ward Councillor, Cllr Thomas Mashego were unsuccessful, as his phone was not answered.
