The DA’s success is South Africa’s success

Helen Zille, Democratic Alliance (DA) leader had a tour around Mpumalanga to bring change to the communities.

She started off her tour on Thursday morning. March 27 in eMalahleni, where business people from the community attended the meeting at Protea Hotel.

The last fortnight has been tough for South Africa. No one takes pleasure in hearing about more scandal and corruption. Everyone wants to be able to look up to leaders who do the right thing and respect the honour and responsibility of their office.

“But as tough as these last two weeks have been, I am optimistic that this election can bring real change to South Africa. I still believe that there is nothing that is wrong with South Africa that cannot be fixed by what is right with South Africa,” said Zille.

“The lesson of South Africa’s history is that we can shape our future by the choices we make. We can choose change. We can choose a government that does what it takes to create real jobs,” continued Zille.

Anthony Benadie is the DA Provincial Leader and Mpumalanga premier candidate spoke to the business people about the state of eMalahleni.

Zille continued: “More and more South Africans, here in Mpumalanga, and across the country, are making that choice. The DA is the only party that has grown in every election. Each new DA victory shows that South Africa’s democracy is working.

That is why DA is the only party that is truly focused on the future of South Africa with a uniting vision of a prosperous and inclusive country. And that is why DA aims to become a party of government throughout South Africa. Our purpose is to make freedom real for every person.

“That is why where the DA governs; the economy is growing and creating jobs even as jobs are being lost in the rest of the country.
That is why the Western Cape, where the DA governs, has the lowest unemployment rate in South Africa.

“That is why Cape Town is the city in South Africa with the lowest income inequality.
“That is why the DA provincial government in the Western Cape was first to provide universal access to anti-retroviral medication and is now a world leader in the field of HIV prevention and treatment.

“That is why independent researchers found that Midvaal was the only place in Gauteng where the majority of residents black and white are happy with service delivery.

“And Baviaans, a small DA-run municipality in the Eastern Cape, is the exception in that province. It is clean, services are delivered and its finances are in good shape.

“This is why, through partnerships, we have reduced crime by 90% in Central Cape Town and are now steadily following this example in our pilot projects in Khayelitsha.

“When DA gets the chance to put their policies into practice, they can lead the way in eradicating the legacy of apartheid.
“Where the DA governs, things get better step by step.

“This is the choice that is before all South Africans in this election. “There is another South Africa within our reach. But to reach it, all voters need to use the power of their vote to choose it.

“It is a place where politicians work to serve the people, not to enrich themselves.
“Let us go forward together and make it happen. Stand together with the DA on May 7. Stand together for change, together for jobs,” concluded Zille.
