Cleaning at Schoongezicth

Democratic Alliance (DA) councillors took to the street recently to clean up Schoongezicht.

The members embarked on a leaning campaign on Thursday March 20. Members of DA, councillors, activists and some members of the community all took part in a clean-up campaign in the open grassy park opposite the shopping centre in Schoongezicht. “Protective gloves, black bags and plenty of energy made short work of cleaning the park, which was littered with bottles, papers, broken glass and various other unmentionable items. Both young and older children, as well as adults, use the park as a shortcut to various destinations and the broken glass and other types of litter pose a real health hazard for the community. The necessity of a clean up to assist residents of Schoongezicht was both worthwhile and also a time to get to know those who live in the area. Thanks to the company that donated 60 black bags and to all those who assisted so willingly,” said a spokesperson for DA.
