Vosman Police Station communication officer Captain Klaas Maloka addressing pupils at Vuma Primary School in Lynnville while school principal Mr Sipho Masemola looks on.

He addressed the teachers and the pupils and emphasised the importance of working together in fighting crime. He said they were welcome to report any criminal activity in the school or in their homes. He also said they will be joined by officials from department of social services department in the future.

“We are doing this because we love you as parents and you are the future leaders. We need to join hands to fight crime and we expect you not to involve yourself in criminal activities. We want to protect you from bad elements, so smoking, using drugs and alcohol are just out for school children. Respect your teachers and parents at home, do the right things and you will have a bright future,” said Captain Maloka.

The police wants to have their presence felt at schools, as well as to have police presence in schools in various forms, including visible patrols, responses to calls for service and to investigate cases reported.
