Kriel police are on the manhunt once more

Police are on a manhunt for two armed robbers wanted for a cash-in transit heist.

The heist took place on Monday morning 10 March. A security guard was on his way out of a filling station after collecting monies.

The guard was attacked by a robber who wrestled him to the floor, fighting over the cash box. Another suspect entered the fray after seeing that the guard was overpowering the one robber. The second suspect managed to disarm the guard of his Vector 9mm handgun and fired off a shot in the guard’s direction.

The guard loosened his grip and the two robbers managed to escape with an undisclosed amount of money and the guard’s firearm.
No one was injured during the incident and police are investigating a case of armed robbery.
