Golfing for the NSRI

The NSRI (National Sea Rescue Institute) had a golf day to raise funds and they were pleasantly surprised with the generosity they were greeted with.

On Saturday, June 29 tee off started the sunny morning and the chatter afterward confirmed that the event was well enjoyed.

Yolande Storm won the longest drive; Annemarie Grewar was nearest to the pin and Ronel Jansen van Rensburg nearest to the pin on five and 14.

Travis Clack, Station Commander, explained that the NSRI is a charity organization that is manned by just over 1200 highly skilled, unpaid volunteers and is entirely reliant on sponsorships and donations to cover their annual running costs of approximately R112 million.

He thanked all those who participated in or supported the golf day.

“We had this golf day because we need a new rescue vehicle which we need funds for. We would like to thank each and every person who donated to this cause,” concluded Travis Clack.
