Eastvaal rugby club beat Newcastle

It was a tough day at the office for the first team, who only lead with 17-7 at halftime.

The Eastvaal rugby club demonstrated how rugby should be played when the first and second teams beat the Highlanders from Newcastle.

The first and second team games that took place on the Witbank High sport grounds on Saturday, June 1, were nail biting.

It was a hard, tough day at the office – but Eastvaal Witbank’s first and second teams managed to bag two wins.

For the second team Shawn Dippenaar, at inside centre, had a storming game with his incredible charges made at the defence, who struggled to bring him down.

In support was none other than Mzwakhe Fransman, who played at prop, and made life very difficult for the opposing team in the scrums and looseplay.

Eastvaal’s second team managed to beat the Highlanders by 32 – 15.

It was a tough day at the office for the first team, who only lead with 17-7 at halftime.

Although there were a lot of changes made in the first team, with some of the first start players playing from the bench, the Eastvaal first team kicked in to gear in the second half and won the game by 43 – 21.

The Highlanders team played good rugby making it very difficult for Eastvaal rugby club
to play their brand of rugby.

Eastvaal Witbank rugby club’s first team are currently lying in second place of the Phakisa premier league, with 20 points behind the men from Whiteriver who are on top with 21 points, although Witbank played one game less.

We invite all the supporters to come and support our local teams with the second teams kicking off at 14:00 at Witbank High.
