A third school has reported that thieves have broken into the school and stolen items.

A third school has reported that thieves have broken into the school and stolen items.

Alex Mampane Primary School is the third school to have a burglary. School principal Mr Deanen Reddy reported that the break-in was on Tuesday, August 15 at about 12:55.


A grinder was used to gain entry into the strong room of Alex Mampane Primary School in Klarinet.

This is the third school after Bonginsimbi Secondary School and Khayalethu Primary School break-ins.

The thieves used the same modus operandi. Bonginsimbi was the first on May 9, where the thieves took away tools worth R51 00.

During the second break-in on Tuesday, June 13 in the early hours of the morning they took 21 laptop computers, three flat screen televisions, three projectors and a big angle grinder.

At Khayalethu they stole seven computers worth R7 000 and other items which were stored there. They also took money, R6 000 cash from the tuck shop.

There was also R2 300 petty cash taken and seven laptops estimated at R42 000, an overhead projector worth about R5 000, electricity extension cord worth R500 and other items.
