A father and son were killed in an accident on the N12 highway as they were travelling back to Johannesburg.

A father and son were killed in an accident on the N12 highway as they were travelling back to Johannesburg.

Mr John Nkuna (40) and his father Mr Caiphus Nkuna (78) were travelling in a grey Nissan Navara bakkie on Sunday, August 6.

As the Nkuna’s were travelling along, just outside Ogies, it is alleged that one of the back tyres burst and the driver lost control of the vehicle causing it to roll.

Both the son and father were allegedly flung out of the vehicle before it came to a standstill on the opposite side of the highway.


The bonnet of the grey Nissan Navara bakkie that was involved in the accident on Sunday, August 6 on the N12 highway.

Emergency services arrived on scene and declared both the father and son dead on scene.

“They were both very friendly people, open minded people and they loved people,” said Mr Vusi Nkuna, the eldest brother

The funerals took place on Saturday, August 12 at Nkomazi.
