Community members and motorist woke to find roads from KwaGuqa Extensions blocked.

Instead of celebrating Women’s Day on August 9, some motorists struggled to use the road on their way to work. A truck was burned on the N4 from Pretoria and traffic had to be redirected by traffic officers.


One of the two cars that was burned by protesters near the KG Mall traffic circle. A truck was also burned on the N4 Highway.

The road leading to the KG Mall was blocked by stones, burning tyres and firewood. Two cars were burned on the road. A Fiat Uno and Toyota Avanza were casualties of the protest.


All sort of items were used to block the road by the protesters on the Mathew Phosa road near Vosman.

The protest started on Tuesday, August 8 and continued the following day.
