Robert Carruthers Primary School has won the u.12 regional finals of the Danone Nations Cup 2017.
RCS’s boys headed out onto the field dressed in their red and blue kit, in high spirits, and ready to win – which they did.

The regional finals of the cup took place at RCS on May 10.

The semi-finals were played in two groups of round robin comprising of three teams each. The winners of both round robins faced off against one another in the regional final the same day. The winner thereof will go on to play in the Nkangala District (provincial) finals to be held at Themba Senamela Stadium in Middelburg on May 27.

In pool A, Robert Carruthers, the Emalahleni sub region winners, faced off against Delpark Primary, winners of the Victor Khanye sub region, and Buhlebuzile Primary, winners of the J.S Moroka sub region.

In pool B, Deumelani Primary (Thembisile Hani sub region winner) faced off against Ukwezi Primary (Emakhazeni sub region winner) and Makhathini Primary (Steve Tshwete sub region winner).

In pool A, Robert Carruthers won both their games netting six points while Buhlebuzile Primary drew their match against Delpark. In pool B, Dumelani Primary won their match again Makhathini Primary and drew against Ukhwezi Primary netting four points, Makhathini won against Ukhwezi finishing on three points.

The winners of pool A, Robert Carruthers, and pool B, Dumelani Primary face off against one another in the regional finals with Robert Carruthers scoring three goals to nil, moving on to the provincial finals at the end of this month.
