Schools invited to be part of the ‘Take a girl child to work’ programme

Emalahleni Housing Company (EHC) visited five schools to invite learners to be part of their ‘Take a girl child to work’ which will be held next month.

The ‘Take a girl child to work’ programme will be held on May 25.

Emalahleni Housing Company also engaged with the principals of the different schools to find out about their respective challenges which the schools face on a daily basis then the company could go back to see which challenges they may assist with.

“Emalahleni Housing Company really takes pride in community development projects hence they felt to continue with this project as it kicked off last year to invite young girls to know the ins and outs of the entire company. The company felt that it was a good programme for the young learners as the city of eMalahleni receives negative reports on young people,” said Trevor Dube Sport Wrap Foundation.

The Take a girl child to work campaign will include the following five high schools: Kopanang Secondary School, Zacheus Malaza Secondary School, Witbank High School, Greendale Secondary School and Ilanga Secondary School.

Each school will select a student from Grade 10 to Grade 12 to be part of the programme which runs for the entire day then the learners will also be addressed by EHC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr George Xaba after their lunch.
