Homeless gets a sleeping bag made with love

All you need to make a Snuggler is plastic, newspapers and tape.

Nature’s elements are not kind to the homeless, but a sleeping bag made out of newspaper and plastic will provide some comfort.

On Saturday, October 22 Mr Patrick Mills, Lions Club president of Lions Club Centurion and his wife, Bernice, showed how easy it is to make such a sleeping bag they call a Snuggler.

“Snugglers are warm and portable as they fold up easily,” Patrick said.

With the help of some volunteers 17 Snugglers were quickly made and distributed to the homeless.

“Thank you very much to Nashville that gave us the space to work in and also provided us with tea, coffee and muffins. To everyone who assisted thank you so much, you made a difference in someone’s life,” Patrick said.

The Lions Club will set up at Nashville again on Saturday, November 26 to make more Snugglers. If you want to come and lend a hand bring a friend and join in the fun.
