Beaten man dies in hospital

A man was beaten by a group of people, but succumbed to his injuries in Witbank Provincial Hospital.

A man was beaten by a group of people, but succumbed to his injuries in Witbank Provincial Hospital.
The incident happened on Wednesday, September 7 at 21:20 in Klarinet Extension 8.

Police officials on duty that evening were patrolling the area when they received a complaint about an assault in the area.

When they arrived on scene the police officers noticed a group of people were gathered around a young man lying on the ground bleeding profusely.

The injured man managed to introduce himself to the officers as Mr Sunnyboy Mbath.
According to the officers he was unable to talk let alone able to walk.

Blood was pouring out of his head and next to his limp body laid stones which were covered in blood.
Emergency Services arrived on scene and the injured Mbath was taken to Witbank Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Police are busy investigating a case as they believe it was an incident of mob justice.

“We are asking the community to come forward with any information regarding this murder as the motive for his death is unknown at this stage,” said Captain Eddie Hall, spokesperson from Witbank Police Station.
