TRAC goes all out in support of GTR2016

Road users diverted to the N4 by traffic officials will be given a unique voucher that qualifies them for the special rate.

With the 30th edition of the Greatest Train Race (GTR) taking place this Saturday, August 20, Trans African Concessions (TRAC) will once again support this prestigious road race in various ways.

One of TRAC’s biggest contributions to this event is the special toll reduction it offers at the Middelburg Toll Plaza for motorists affected by the closure of the R555 between eMalahleni and Middelburg from 05:00 to 14:00. Motorists on this road during these times will be diverted to the N4 Toll Route and in order to accommodate those affected TRAC will charge Class 1 vehicles a reduced toll fee of R20 (instead of R53) at the Middelburg Toll Plaza.

Road users diverted to the N4 by traffic officials will be given a unique voucher that qualifies them for the special rate. This voucher, which they simply have to hand in at the Middelburg Toll Plaza, is valid only during the period of the road’s closure.

Because TRAC believes in promoting general health and wellness within the company, it also encouraged and supported its employees to participate in this athletic event. In total 37 TRAC employees will be running – 30 in the 25km relay, two in the 32km main race and five in the 15km run.

According to TRAC’s Corporate Social Investment manager Adri Fourie, contributing towards major community events such as the GTR is important to the company, “As a major service provider in the area, we take our social responsibility towards the communities along the route seriously and this is but one way of serving those people.”

“It is a privilege to be involved and contribute meaningfully to a cause that has such a positive impact on the local community and beyond,” says Fourie.

TRAC’s Helpdesk will be available to assist road users with queries and information relating to the N4 Toll Route, and the special concession, throughout the event. This fully operational call centre assists and responds to all road user queries as well as any emergencies, incidents and accidents that occur on the route.

It can be reached 24 hours a day, toll-free, on 0800 87 22 64.
