He rammed my car after wanting to run me over

He picked up the number plate and put it into his vehicle, the driver of the car behind him got enraged by this and allegedly tried to run him over

An incident of road rage nearly cost a man his life when a driver tried to run him over and instead rammed his vehicle into a nearby tree.

On Wednesday, August 3 Mr Vusi Phakani was waiting at the traffic light on Mandela Street at the N4 off-ramp when he felt a crash at the back of his Toyota Yaris.

“I was waiting for the red to go green when I felt a car hit mine, it was a large car with large bull bars,” said Phakani.

Pakani exited his vehicle to see what the damages were.

“The guy driving was just complaining about how he was having life problems, I left him in the car and walked around my car when I saw his license plate lying on the floor,” said Phakani.

He then picked up the plate and put it into his vehicle, the driver of the car behind him got enraged by this and allegedly tried to run him over, the driver then allegedly rammed Phakani’s Yaris into the nearby trees and drove off.

“It looked like he wanted to run me over, police arrived on scene a bit later and I reported the incident to them, I am still awaiting feedback though,” he said.

It was later found that the license FWS 776 MP belonged to a white Ford Ranger, the alleged vehicle used to ram the Yaris.

Police have not yet made any arrests regarding this case of reckless/negligent driving.
