Armed robbery suspects arrested in KwaZulu-Natal

In less than 24 hours suspects that were involved in an armed robbery at a liquor store in eMalahleni got arrested in KwaZulu-Natal.

Three suspects went into Why Not Liquor Store where they took money and car keys. The armed robbery took place on the evening of Friday, July 29. The men that are linked to this robbery have been nabbed by Magadu Police after being found with unlicensed firearms and a huge sum of money.

The owner of the store Mr Carl Swart confirmed that there was a robbery where three men came in armed and robbed his business.

“It was before 18:00 when the suspects came in and stole the items,” explained Swart.

According to Lt Colonel Thulani Zwane from KwaZulu-Natal SAPS Corporate Communication on Saturday, July 30 as police were patrolling along R66 Nongoma and Pongola road next to the Vryheid turn off, they spotted a red Honda Ballade with five occupants inside.

Police stopped the vehicle to conduct a search, they discovered three 9mm firearms and ammunition.
The suspects aged between 19 and 26 were locked behind bars for being found in possession of unlicensed firearms.
The suspects appeared at the Magudu Magistrate Court on Monday, August 1.
