The match took place on November 21 after three weeks of Spurs playing away games.

As soon as the referee blew the whistle for the game to begin both side’s players looked sharp and ready for the encounter. Five minutes into the match, Limpopo side Black Leopards had a strong defence trying to block their opponents as much as they could from conceiving goals.

Witbank Spurs left wing Mfanafuthi Ntozelizwe tried hard to hit the back of the net but his chances were denied by a marvellous save from Black Leopard’s goal keeper Avhashoni Tshinuna.

Due to foul play, one of Black Leopard’s players was handed a yellow card.

13 minutes before the referee signalled for the players to take a break, Black Leopards player scored a goal which led to the team’s supporters chanting even louder and dancing as a sign to celebrate and motivate the team to play harder and conceive more goals.

Midfielder Peter Mubayiwa did not leave the challenge lying down; he took a shot but unfortunately could not reach the target.

In the second half Witbank Spurs came to the party as they looked more determined to finish the game with them being on the lead.
Their stamina on the field saw Witbank Spurs central midfielder Bongane Mathabela score in only15 minutes in the game. Witbank Spurs supporters who were de-motivated started blowing vuvuzela’s and celebrating with their team.

Despite Black Leopards making few substitutions, this did not stop Witbank Spurs to net in yet another spectacular goal which came from Joshua Sauls.

The opponents did not stomach the second goal well as they started picking up their pace and tried several tactics to score but those opportunities were blocked by Witbank Spurs goal keeper Zama Dlamini.

Four minutes was added to the match and this gave both teams the green light to give it their all which was to add yet another goal on the score sheet. The final score of the match was 2 Witbank Spurs – 1 Black Leopards. This win sees the Witbank side being second on the log with 23 points.

Their next match will take place on December 16 where they will play against Santos for the Nedbank Cup qualifiers competition at Puma Stadium.
