Struck and killed by a hit and run driver

Pedestrian fatalities remain a major concern for road safety and health authorities.
According to the Sanral Road Safety Management System (RSMS) nearly half of the deaths that occur on South African roads are that of pedestrians.

Another pedestrian was left for dead after a hit and run.
On November 15, the body of the 19 year old Andile Dineo Cindy Mokoena was found on the Bethal road.

According to Mr J.V Mahlangu from the Provincial Ambulance Services the Andile was lying facing up and her shoes were lying three meters away from her body. She was declared dead on the scene.
The vehicle that caused the death of Andile was not on the scene but the case is being investigated by the SAPS.
