The members were on patrol on Thursday November 5 at about 11:40. The members were confronted by two African males coming from a passage nearby; the pair were stopped and searched. One of them, Lunga Nyoka (21) was found with a black school bag and inside was dagga of about 10 kg found in black plastic bags. The other one Siyabonga Makalima (29) was pointed out as the owner of the bag. Makalima also was carrying a tomahawk, hand garden fork and a wood saw. Both appeared like people from field work, as their hands and feet were dirty. They did not indicate where they were and what were they doing.

A foot path was followed by the police and another suspect stood up along tall grass and he tried to run away. He was caught, searched and dagga was also found in his possession.

The area was then searched and a dagga field was found. Further on another three dagga fields were found, all in all four dagga fields were found by the police. Each dagga field can measure 30 by 10 metres width and is suspected to have 200 dagga plantations in each field. The dagga fields were strategically planted near the tall reeds hiding them away from the public as the area is less frequented by the people.
