Taxi drivers and owners trying to bring peace

A statement issued by the local taxi drivers said they are trying their best to bring peace in the transport industry.
After several problems encountered by both the drivers and the owners, many issues remain unresolved by the parties. At one point the local taxi office was burned down. The police were involved and the department of transport from the province was also involved.

Recently the taxi drivers issues a statement saying that they want to bring peace into the table and they were allegedly invited to a meeting only to find that it was illegal.

“We want to assure the community of eMalahleni that peace will prevail in our city no matter what. There won’t be any disturbance of any kind and that is the assurance by the newly elected interim committee. The present committee will make sure that all operations will be carried out in a proper and honest manner. We will make sure that our customers are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve. Together we can bring peace. We care for our customers and that is our motto,” added a statement from the local taxi association.
