Duvha Power Station making a difference in community

Recently Duvha Power Station has joined hands with other partners to make a difference within some communities.

During the winter season Duvha Power Station joined hands with Southey Contracting and with Stop Hunger Now South Africa (an organisation endorsed by the Nelson Mandela foundation) to pack 20 000 meals in less than two hours.

This initiative is too close to the heart of the Duvha Power Station manager, Mr Antony Kuzelj who believes that organizations do not exist in isolations of their community and they should respond to the plight in whatever possible way. “The meal packaging event was filled with a positive atmosphere, dancing and fun as employees dedicated their time, also competing across the production lines to achieve this target.

With over 100 volunteers it proved to be a great success demonstrating the significance of giving back to our community. The team hit the road and on June 23 they distributed the meals at selected crèches, primary schools, hospices, old age homes and disabled centers. “As the boxes were loaded off we were humbled by the appreciation from the community, this is a red flag to do more for them, in however way we can. We thank everyone who took part in the community work, reaching out to the needs of our people.
