Since this morning 05:00 the road leading into the Klarinet industrial area has been blocked off with large stones and burning tyres. Workers and business owners have been waiting for hours to get to work and earn a salary.
Residents in the area are protesting against the fact that their power was cut off over the weekend for some reason. The municipality is in negotiations with the residents of the community however it is unclear how the negotiations are progressing.
It is advised to avoid travelling to Paxton Prison or the Klarinet industrial area until the matter is resolved. The Verena road to Pine Ridge has been cleared and is safe to travel.
Police are on the scene to ensure the situation does not get out of hand until the matter can be resolved.
