Theuns set to warm up hearts
A pizza and a few rand, that was what Theuns Jordaan was paid the first time he appeared in front of a crowd back in 1992.
Today this talented singer with the deeply emotive bass voice draws huge crowds.
His debut album, ‘Vreemde stad’ was released in 2000 and became one of the most successful debut-albums ever.
Two years later Theuns introduced his second album ‘Tjailatyd’ and again there was no stopping this album and it quickly reached the 210 000 mark.
‘Seisoen’ was the third album, needless to say it was another success story.
His music has been said to be ‘faintly bluesly, radio-friendly’, with his lyrics ‘infused with a mournful love of South Africa’. His true interpretation of old Afrikaans songs and some of his original tracks has made him a big hit with fans.
He just does it all, he is stunning to look at, stunning to listen to and his songs are not just sing-a-long music but its music that wants to be listened to and touches people’s soul.
Theuns will be on stage at The Venue at The Ridge on May 29. Doors open at 18:00 and the show start at 19:00.
Tickets are R120 per person and are sold at Computicket.
