Bravo Kilo 1 arrested again

Mr Bruce Kirton, former director and head of operations of Witbank 911, is in trouble again.

Kirton, known as Bravo Kilo 1 on the Zello application group, was arrested on Friday, April 17 for fraud. He was released on R2 000 bail and the case was postponed for further investigation.
The complainant, Mr Jaap Venter, did not want to elaborate on the incident.
Capt Eddie Hall, police spokesperson said debit orders amounting to R4 366.32 were involved.

Kirton said no money was lost and the money was repaid to Jaap Venter.
“The problem was identified early and the documentation was rectified,” Kirton said.
Kirton stepped down from Witbank 911 earlier in April.
He wrote a message on Facebook wherein he posted, “I will be standing down from Witbank 911 completely.”
Kirton is no stranger to Witbank Magistrate’s Court, where he appeared on Tuesday, March 24 on charges of being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and also discharging a firearm in a municipal area.

He apparently shot out the window of a vehicle after a commotion at a local petrol station.
The 46-year-old Mr Gerald Mashego, driver of a Range Rover, said he was involved in an argument with petrol attendants when a group of people apparently stormed in his direction.
Because he was scared, he jumped in his vehicle and tried to flee. In the haste he took the wrong turn and ended up driving towards the group of people who gathered for patrols with the Witbank 911 group.
Some members of the group apparently dragged him out of the vehicle and attacked him. In the midst of the attack he heard a window break and knew that someone was firing shots.

Kirton’s version of the incident is that Mashego barely missed a woman standing with Kirton’s daughter when he drove towards the group of people.
He said everything seemed to be in slow-motion as the driver then almost drove over three members of Witbank 911, who sat drinking cold drink.

The driver then apparently drove over another member’s foot and came to a standstill. He said the whole situation just exploded.
Kirton was released on R1 000 bail. His next appearance is set for June 17.
