No fatalities over Easter

Of the 20 accidents reported over Easter there was not a single fatality.

Over the period of April 3 to 6 only five people were injured in various accidents.

On April 2 there were a number of accidents, one of which was a taxi that collided with a vehicle in OR Tambo Street. Altogether 12 of its occupants were injured, one of whom was entrapped in the vehicle. Paramedics tended to the scene and were able to rescue the entrapped victim.

Another accident occurred on April 2 where a truck making its way towards eMalahleni was carrying a cargo of bricks when its driver lost control.
The truck overturned, followed by the trailer and its load of bricks.
The driver of the truck was injured however he didn’t sustain serious injury and was taken to Witbank Hospital for further treatment.
