The residents said the blocked sewage is making life very difficult for them.
“We have reported the matter many times and we have been promised that they will come and fix it but no one came. The sewage builds up mostly in the mornings and the water just flows to the nearby passage, used mostly by school children from nearby Khonzimfundo Primary School,” said one of the affected residents.
They said the smell is too much to bear, especially in the morning and late evenings. The sewerage caters for two blocks of flats.
The residents are planning to close the passage since it is smelly and dirty. Some of the residents use the passage as a dumping site. The residents are planning to clean the passage but the sewerage needs to be fixed first. Already they started by cutting tree branches.
Attempts to speak to the ward councillor failed as her phone rang unanswered.
