Bail given to murder suspects – family in fear

A family now fears for their lives, as Elton Louw’s suspected murderers are released on bail.

A family now fears for their lives, as Elton Louw’s suspected murderers are released on bail.

The five men suspected of assaulting and killing Louw were released on bail in Witbank Magistrate’s Court on September 12.
Although the investigating officer opposed bail in his affidavit to the court, bail was set and granted at R2 000 to each of the accused.

The defence argued that there were no witnesses to the assault or murder of Louw. Yet Louw’s sister believes that there are many who witnessed the beating Louw received while being abducted in Old Coronation.
“Many saw but are afraid because of what they saw. They fear for their lives,” said Louw’s sister.
