The body was found by police on Wednesday, August 20 at Plot 10 in Balmoral at about 08:00.
The man was found facing up and his hands were tied with a brown jacket and shoe laces. He also had blood coming out of his nose and his face was swollen from beating, according to the police.
Later a car was found abandoned at Klarinet. A community member picked up a starter pack a few metres from the car and phoned one of the numbers.
It was later determined that the car belonged to the man and his family in Gauteng was traced.
The family confirmed that they have being looking for the man. Apparently he was coming from Ermelo and was on his way to Gauteng. It is not known what happened to him.
