Can the Emalahleni Community save our centre and our animals?

With the economy been as bad as it is – Witbank SPCA is feeling the pressure. Their centre is currently running at a loss of around R25 000 to R30 000 a month and fast running out of resources to keep the centre going.

Can the community of Emalahleni assist in saving the centre? The SPCA runs a kennel sponsorship programme of R100 a month per kennel and currently has approximately 102 sponsors, but the centre needs 300 sponsors a month to be able to keep the animals in a safe environment.

Your R100 goes towards the running of the centre and for that we place an advertising board on each kennel to show the public where their support comes from.

Witbank SPCA currently has a working committee of only five members – and the task of raising funds as well as the job of chairlady, treasurer, secretary, human resources, and fund raising is just too big a task for just five people.

If you can afford R100 a month please contact the SPCA urgently to be able to get a debit order in place for either individuals or your company. Company sponsorships will be issued with a Section 18a for tax purposes.

For those who cannot speak for themselves we plead with our community to assist in getting another 198 people on board in order to keep the centre going.
“Please can you continue to appeal to the public of eMalahleni to donate any jumble that they may have. We have had to move the Jumble sale until September 27, giving us a little more time to collect,” said a spokesperson for the organisation.
“At this stage we would like to sincerely thank those people that have helped us out but we still have need for loads more jumble to sell.”
Please contact either Lizelle Mitchell on 072 225 5195 or Kathy Conway on 083 609 7145 if you are able to assist.
