Three people were found guilty of theft and sentenced to hefty fines.

On May 8 a man was driving in his car while waiting behind a truck a suspect broke through his window and stole his laptop.

The suspect, Kampudi Posoane, was found guilty of theft and sentenced to a fine of R1 500 or a sentence of 90 days. This was wholly suspended for three years. Posoane pleaded guilty to the charge.

On June 25 Nthabiseng Mogola was caught shoplifting and in the Witbank Magistrate’s Court this week pleaded guilty to theft.
Magola was sentenced to pay a fine of R1 000 or serve 60 days imprisonment. This sentence was suspended for three years on conditions that she not be convicted of a similar crime.

A case of house burglary was concluded at Vosman Court when Lulama Masemola pleaded guilty to house burglary with the intent to steal.
Masemola was sentenced to pay a fine of R3 000 or serve a sentence of eight months, which was wholly suspended for three years. Masemola was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.
