Emalahleni Local Municipality taking steps to uplift informal trade.

In a significant show of support for local entrepreneurs, Emalahleni Local Municipality and a local mining company partnered to donate gazebos and tables to informal traders in the CBD.

The event took place on Thursday, September 26.

Emalahleni’s Executive Mayor, Clr Vusi Nhlapho, joined by members of the mayoral committee and municipal officials, handed over the essential equipment.

This initiative, part of the Enterprise Development Support Programme, aims to create dignified trading spaces.

“Programmes like these are crucial for economic growth and inclusivity. We are committed to empowering our people and fostering a thriving business environment,” said Nhlapho.

Benefiting traders got gazebos, citing improved protection from harsh weather and enhanced market participation.

This collaborative effort demonstrates eMalahleni’s dedication to economic development and community upliftment.
