Provincial Archery Tournament breaks records at HGH

"The level of talent and dedication displayed by the archers from all corners of the province is truly inspiring."

The provincial archery tournament held at Hoërskool Generaal Hertzog marked a historic milestone, drawing 248 archers from across the province.

This event on Saturday, July 20, was the largest of its kind to date and showcased competitors in four distinct categories: Grade 2–3 Cubs, Grade 4–7 Primary, Grade 8–13 high school, and adults. Clubs and schools from Witbank, Ga-Nala, Bethal, Secunda, Komatipoort, and Lydenburg came together, demonstrating their archery skills in hopes of securing a place on the Mpumalanga teams for the national tournament in Kimberley this September.

Ryk Gagiano, head co-ordinator of Mpumalanga, said, “Today’s tournament has surpassed all our expectations. The level of talent and dedication displayed by the archers from all corners of the province is truly inspiring.”
