Kriel Police engage Thubelihle with residents

Over 100 pamphlets were handed out to residents and motorists.

Kriel Police, in collaboration with the CPF, recently worked on an awareness campaign to raise awareness, discuss crime, and advise the community on how to stay safe.

Kriel Police Communications Liaison Constable Angel Makubu shared that the event took place at Thubelihle on July 18.

“We discussed matters such as community safety and contact crime.

Members of the community were alerted and advised to lock their houses at night, and never open them for strangers to avoid house robberies,” Makubu outlined.

Shop owners were advised to close their shops early to avoid business robberies as it is winter.

Drivers were urged to be careful when driving at night to share car-jacking prevention tips with them.

The community members were encouraged to work hand in hand with the police and to avoid taking matters into their own hands.

“Over 100 pamphlets of safety tips were distributed to the community.

We together with CPF were happy that the event was a success,” Makubu ended.
