Three arrested after Highveld Park robbery

Two suspects were arrested in Vosloorus and a third in a Klarinet Extension.

Police slapped handcuffs on three suspects following an armed robbery earlier this week.

Following up on intel, the police, Highveld Park Neighbourhood Watch, Nhoko Security, and the Local Taxi Association pounced on a house in Vosloorus on June 13 where a Mazda 2, stolen in Highveld Park the day before, was found.

“Two suspects were arrested on the scene,” said Frik van Dyk from SA Community Crime Watch and chairman of Highveld Neighbourhood Watch.

He said more information was gathered and led them to a house in a Klarinet Extension.

“A substance believed to be drugs and suspected stolen vehicle parts were found. Another suspect was arrested,” Van Dyk said.

The Mazda was stolen in Highveld Park when two suspects stormed a house and tied up two women.

Police spokesperson, Captain Eddie Hall said the suspects ransacked the house and took cell phones, a gaming box, shopping cards, safes, laptops and keys, and the vehicle.
