Miss Redefined Ambassador shines her way to the top

Alwande proudly holds her sparkling crown high

Alwande Ashley Ntsumpula (17) glamorously bagged the title Miss Redefined Ambassador and Miss Redefined Provincial Queen.

Her modeling career began at the age of 14, and she is still raising her glittering crown high and with no doubt of being unhindered by any setbacks.

Along with the other prestigious titles she has obtained since 2021/2023 which included making it to the top 5 of Miss Diligent Mpumalanga and being crowned the first queen of Miss Klarinet 2022, Alwande is still on the rise to reach for the stars.

The pageant beauty queen would not have imagined she could get this far if it hadn’t been for the help and love she receives from her loved ones.

“My mother, Nobuhle Ntsumpula, and my aunt Busiswe Ntsumpula are the people who supported me and gave me hope that one day I will reach my dreams of being the Miss Universe. Not only were they supporting me financially, but they gave me moral support and words of affirmation,” said Alwande.

She is pleased to be the only girl from Mpumalanga to represent her province, and she was crowned on Saturday, April 6.
She has always aspired to be a beauty queen, and realising her ambition is one of her proudest accomplishments.

“Zozibini Tunzi, Miss Universe 2019 inspired me to enter beauty pageants, it is the way she brought change and inspired girls that gave me hope to also stand up and take up space and learn more about my advocacy and me,” she said.

Because pageants attempt to reshape young women, Alwande saw it as an opportunity to address her flaws and educate herself about the need to empower women/girl children and to put an end to gender inequality. In addition, she planned to give back to the community.

“I entered beauty pageants because they were a good space for me to grow, voice out my thoughts, and explore different cultures, religions, and people,” she explained.

Alwande intends to use this platform to promote equality and kindness, as well as to demonstrate to the world that as humans, we are all unique and must treat everyone with respect and decency.

“It was an inspiring journey, competing against wonderful, talented ladies, but with the assistance from my modeling academy, it was much easier,” said Alwande.

She is also spreading love to anyone willing to join pageants but afraid to become the best version of yourself and achieve whatever your heart desires. Try not to become a woman of success with no value but rather try to become a woman of value, respect, and dignity because “umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu”.
