Emalahleni mother healing after serious accident

Emalahleni family thank everyone for being part of the road of recovery after accident.

Months after her life-altering car accident on the R545 (Ga-Nala/Ogies road) last September, Sinalo Willie, a 27-year-old mother, is steadily healing.

“It’s going well,” she shared. “I recently went for a check-up, and they said I should be walking by now. My right leg hasn’t healed, but the ribs and left leg have. I’m using the crutch, but from time to time.”

Sinalo, her daughter, and her sister were returning from a church service when the accident unfolded, leaving nine people injured. Sinalo sustained severe injuries, including fractured legs and ribs, requiring urgent medical attention to save her life.

With a lengthy waiting list at Witbank General Hospital, Sinalo’s family faced the daunting task of raising funds for her treatment at Emalahleni Private Hospital (ePH), with a significant price tag of R215 843.30.

However, the community stepped up remarkably. Through unwavering faith and effort, the Tabernacle of Grace Christian Church and the Divine Glory Christian Movement Church managed to raise R40 000.

Despite this incredible show of support, the outstanding shortfall of R175 843.30 remained a significant obstacle.

But the Willies didn’t give up hope, and the community continued to rally behind them.

Today, there’s a resounding note of optimism in the story. Sinoxolo, Sinalo’s husband, shared the fantastic news that his wife’s operation was a resounding success, describing it as “the light at the end of a very dark tunnel.”

“We thank everyone who helped us when we were going through that difficult time. This shows what people can do for each other,” he expressed.

Sinalo said, “I can’t thank them enough for what they have done for me, and may God bless them, especially the church. The journey wasn’t easy, but the support and love they had given, I trust God with that.”

Sinalo added, “The journey to recovery has been challenging, but the outpouring of love and assistance from our community has been overwhelming. We are forever grateful for their kindness and generosity.”

“I trust in God and am grateful for every step of progress. I couldn’t have made it this far without the prayers and support of my family, friends, and community,” Sinalo concluded.
