Water tankers will be available in strategic areas.

Residents who get their water from the Usuthu scheme are going to face water interruptions.

Emalahleni Local Municipality issued a notice from Tuesday, February 20 to, Wednesday, February 21 regarding planned maintenance for the installation of 400 low-voltage electrical panels at Camden PS low-voltage substation.

Camden supplies the electricity to the Usuthu scheme for pumping of water.

Water supply is expected to normalise after the work has been completed.

“The municipality hereby apologises for any inconvenience caused by the planned outage. We plead with the communities and the businesses to use the available water sparingly during the duration of the water shutdown,” said Mr Lebo Mofokeng municipal spokesperson.

Water tankers will be available in strategic areas.
