Emalahleni FC are the third best team

Emalahleni FC's hard-fought victory over NSSD earned them a well-deserved bronze medal in the U17 soccer tournament.

The tournament organised by Samancor was played at Overline Sports Ground on Saturday, October 21.

The two teams faced each to determine the third-best team following the semi-final matches whereby Emalahleni FC were beaten 3-1 by Thushananga United and Ackerville United played and won 2-1 against NSSD in the other match.
Emalahleni FC was awarded a corner kick in the first few minutes of the match while pressing hard for an early opener.

Emalahleni FC with their attack were caught on a break attack by NSSD but they failed to capitalise on the presented chance.

NSSD goalkeeper was called to make a save after one of the Emalahleni FC forwards made a sole run towards the goal.
Emalahleni FC were the stronger team making numerous attacks in the NSSD goalmouth but all their efforts were fruitless.
NSSD made inroads and in one of their attacks failed where it matters most in the last quarter of the field and a shot went wide.

With the clock ticking towards the end of the first half NSSD scored their first goal after a cross from the left.

Leading 1-0, NSSD started to attack from all angles getting more players forward.
In the second half, Emalahleni FC defended well and also attacked well.

They were rewarded when they scored the equaliser to make it 1-1 and the play was evenly balanced like the score.
Both teams made substitutes considering that both teams were playing their second match of the day and they needed fresh legs.

Emalahleni FC playing a free-flowing game but was let down by their forwards after missing numerous scoring opportunities.
Towards the end of the match, Emalahleni FC came strongly forcing NSSD to defend but they soon cracked when Emalahleni scored their winning goal to make it 2-1.
Emalahleni FC were awarded bronze medals for coming third in the tournament.
The tournament was well-supported.
