Coal City Wizards in a downward spiral

In a challenging season for Coal City Wizards, the team finds itself in a precarious position, battling relegation week after week.

Local sides, Coal City Wizards continued with their downward spiral and are relegation-threatened week in and week out.
On Sunday, September 17, City Wizards were beaten 5-2 by Royal AM, while elsewhere the battle for the top spot heated up between UWC and Mamelodi Sundown Ladies.
UWC is keeping the ball rolling for themselves as they keep winning and are now ten points clear of their rivals Sundowns having played three more games.

While the defending champions Sundown, were busy with their Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) qualifiers over the past weeks they need to do a lot of catch-up to close the gap with the Western Cape team.

While the top three teams, UWC, Sundowns and JVW are battling it up for the top spot the bottom three tail-end teams are also battling it up to save themselves from the axe.
Coal City Wizards, Thunderbirds and Ma-Indies are trying to save their skins. Coal City Wizards are placed 14th with 13 points after playing 23 games, Thunderbirds are in 15th place with 11 points after playing the same number of games and Ma-Indies occupy the last place with six points after 23 games.

The University of Western Cape is leading with 60 points after playing 22 games, Sundowns are second with 50 points after playing 19 games and JVW are in third with 47 points are playing 22 game.
First Touch Academy beat Ma-Indies 2-1.
