Grow Church, Witbank hosts breakfast for business people

Pastor Andries van Schalkwyk shared the importance of responsible financial management from a biblical perspective.

Guest speaker at the Grow Church Business Breakfast, Pastor Eckhardt Olivier, shared some words of wisdom on how Christian principles can guide decision-making in the business world.

The breakfast was hosted by Grow Church, Witbank in collaboration with the Nkangala Business Chamber on Friday, September 8.

Pastor Olivier, who is the senior pastor at Be Church in Pretoria, emphasised that “The only business running itself, is the one running downhill”. He elaborated by saying, “As business people and entrepreneurs you have to understand the purpose God called you to do, but that you as the owner of that business need to function responsibly”.

 

Pastor Olivier said, “By God’s grace and for His glory, we as His people have a responsibility to open businesses – God wants us to be productive, creative, and innovative.”President of the Nkangala Business Chamber, Daniel Skhosana, said the reason for inviting business people to the breakfast was to expand their world and their influence wherever they are operating in the region.The Nkangala Business Chamber is an organisation in service of its members.”

Pastor Andries van Schalkwyk, senior pastor of Grow Church, Witbank in his welcoming address shared the importance of responsible financial management from a biblical perspective.

He thanked all attendees who came out to attend the business breakfast and said as a church they hope to host many more such events as business people and churches should take hands as leaders in their communities.
