Clewer resident loses life for heat

The man was found dead on the floor and his wife barely moving on the bed.

A caretaker of a smallholding died and his wife is in critical condition following suspected smoke inhalation.

Clewer resident, Jose de Sousa had a big shock this morning (June 29) on his smallholdings when he found his caretaker deceased and his wife unconscious in the room that they occupy situated on the property.

According to De Sousa the man was found dead on the floor and his wife barely moving on the bed.

The victim, only known as July, was found next to a steel bin containing burnt ashes. It seems that the bin was brought inside to supply heat to the room.

De Sousa suggested that July must have tried to get out of bed but fell over hitting his head against the stand.
