Three business robberies in three days

Robbers are robbing businesses left and right.

It has been a busy weekend for robbers in the city as three businesses have been targeted.

Their objective is to take whatever they can in the quickest way possible.

In the first instance, a business in the Central Business District (CBD) on Watermeyer Street was robbed by three unknown men.

On May 19, the robbers entered the premises by force by breaking an entry door.

Two of the robbers had firearms which they used to scare and intimidate the workers on duty.

According to the complainant, the workers on duty were forced to open the tills.

The robbers got away with the money in the till and also took random items from the shop. Luckily no one was harmed and investigations are still ongoing.

Another business has also fallen victim to robbers the next day.

On May 20, in the early morning hours, a petrol station attendant was on duty when he saw an unknown male who forced his way into a small window of the business.

Once inside, the robber took out a firearm and demanded that the bag he provided be filled up with money.

The alleged robber also took the cashier and security’s cellphones.

According to the petrol station cashier, the male who robbed the shop could be identified on the CCTV camera. Investigations are still ongoing. No one got injured during the robbery.

On May 21 a well-known furniture store also received an unsuspecting visit from robbers.

According to reports, three unknown males entered the shop in broad daylight.

One of the three robbers pointed his firearm at one of the shopkeepers and demanded that all employees move to the kitchen area.

Once the workers complied, one of the robbers demanded that the store manager take them to the safe where all the electronic devices were stored.

According to reports, the robbers took an undisclosed amount of electronics including cellphones.

According to one shop assistant, one of the males who robbed the store seemed familiar to her as she said it looked like one of her previous customers.

Shop assistants also said that the total number of robbers was six and that some fled on foot after loading the stolen goods onto a white Nissan 1400 bakkie.

Luckily no one has been injured during the robbery and investigations are still ongoing.
