Children enjoy a fun day for one day

‘We want them to forget their situation for one day and just be children’ says Emrabulweni Wellness and Educational Centre.

Children from the Madressa tul umar Orphanage in Pine Ridge were treated to a fun day out.

The Emrabulweni Wellness and Educational Centre hosted the youngsters on May 15.

Organiser for the event, Thembakazi Ntsizi said that the most important thing for the kids is to have fun. “I want them to play and have fun and forget about their situation and just be kids,” Thembakazi said.

Ayisha Sonto from the orphanage could not contain her joy at the surprise from the NPO.

“They just called unexpectedly and invited us for a fun day out. The kids are mostly indoors so this has been like Christmas for them,” said Sonto.

The orphanage currently has 47 kids ranging from two months to graduate ages.

“We would like to thank the Emrabulweni Centre for hosting us. This has been a huge treat for all the children. I urge other companies to follow in Emrabulweni’s footsteps and help local orphanages. We are struggling as it is, and it is an uphill battle daily to feed and clothe these disadvantaged youths,” Sonto concluded.

The kids were treated to a jumping castle and food and sweets galore.
